Meet Shannon Murray Artist
Background
Based in Bar Harbor, Maine- I am a mixed media artist working primarily with cyanotypes and abstract expressionistic painting on a large scale. When I'm not painting, I am busy being a mother, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and owner of Acadia Psychiatry, PLLC.
Inspiration
I draw inspiration from my life experiences in the medical field, my childhood, my spiritual beliefs and the natural beauty of my surroundings here on Mount Desert Island. I believe art can often express what we as human beings cannot adequately express with words. Currently, I am working on two bodies of work: (1) exploring the relationships and communications amongst birds in flight and their possible representation of us humans in various experiences; (2) images of Acadia National Park and the very unique and special energy that exists here.
